CNC Shift Lead

Franklin Armory® is expanding and in need of a Swing Shift Lead for the CNC Department.  As the CNC Department Shift Lead, you will perform setup and light programming of mills, lathes, and screw machines.  Also, you will guide Machine Operators and assist in their production efforts to ensure a quality finished part.  Mechanical aptitude and critical thinking skills are a must.  This position is at our Minden, NV facility. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • CNC Set up experience required, fourth axis experience preferred.
  • CNC lathe and/or screw machine Set up exposure preferred.
  • Must have a good knowledge of Machine Shop Math and Geometric tolerancing
  • Be able to Read, Intrepid and Work from Drawings and Cad Models.
  • A 2-4-year degree is preferred but not required.
  • Possess personal tools to perform the job.
  • Must have previous Lead Experience with a proven track record.
  • Must be able to Understand, Speak and Write English.
  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Must not be legally precluded from working around firearms. (e.g., no DV, Felonies, etc.)
  • Must be drug-free. 

Physical Demands:

  • Required to lift up to 50 lbs. 
  • Moderate walking, standing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work outside and inside, around moving objects, and with machinery with moving parts.

Work Environment:

  • Maintain the highest level of safety and cleanliness in and around the production and assembly areas
  • Support QC by performing visual and mechanical checks to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Communicate with CNC Shop Manager regarding potential issues that could affect product quality and/or safety including equipment and product issues
  • Ensure that all documentation is correct including quantities and other records
  • Report defective parts/equipment or questionable conditions to the department supervisor
  • Must be present in regular attendance and have a flexible work schedule
  • Ensure compliance with legal- and company ordinances in his/her areas of responsibility
  • Maintain knowledge of QC requirements and procedures to ensure proper disposition of nonconforming parts
  • Keeps his/her standard of expertise up-to-date in his/her area of responsibility through continuing education measures
